About Kym

I hate talking about myself. But I’ll suck it up so we can work together.

I have been in the ad business for more than 40 years. I was born an artist- I drew, I illustrated, and at 14, I learned to paint signs. I ruined every piece of clothing I owned (it seemed), but it paid for college. It also helped me to discover the nuances of typography and the role it plays in creating great graphics.

Throughout my career, I have worked tirelessly as a designer, an art director, a creative director, a producer, a director and a cinematographer. I was even a marketing director for a few years. I created thousands of campaigns and played roles of varying degrees in thousands more. My work always managed to garner significant market share, earning my companies and clients more than $1 billion in profits while grabbing more than 140 awards, including an ADDY Best of Show.

I worked for ad agencies most of my adult life. Since 1998 however, I have been a freelancer, and love it. If I take on a design project, I give it my all and can work with any creative director or marketing team to get it done. If you ask me for something more, I’ll get that done too. I’m great at concepts, attention-grabbing headlines, and even technical copy. I never miss a deadline and I always stay on budget. I charge a fair rate. I always deliver more than what was promised. And I’d like to think I am fun to work with. I live, eat, drink and breathe this business, and ideas arrive in my oversized cranium day and night- I can’t stop them. Nor do I want to.

Whatever your project, I hope you’ll give me a chance. I don’t mind pitching or delivering spec. Creativity in marketing is a completely unique art form. It requires placing oneself in the shoes of the recipient, to get a feel for what might motivate them to act, then creating visually stimulating and memorable work that ties that message to the brand and client. It’s something to which I subscribe and try to adhere, always.

If you’re having trouble believing I’m that guy, then let me pitch. If my ideas motivate you, they will probably motivate your audience.

Ready to have some fun? Yeah, me too.
